Theme :FORGIVE WITHOUT NUMBER
( Dan 9:4-10,Ps 79, Lk 6: 36-38)

Forgiveness is a virtue which sometimes is difficult for us to practice. But we must mature in this virtue if we want to be authentic Christians. Especially in this season of grace.

Jesus told Peter and his disciples to forgive always, whenever they are offended. I know someone has hurt you so much that, it is difficult for you to let go. Please ask for God’s strength to forgive that person. You can forgive that person, therefore I encourage you to let go.

To err is human but to forgive truly is divine. Don’t imprison anybody in your heart. Free the person from your heart and be free. The more you keep him or her in your heart, the more you hurt yourself. That’s why we are developing all kinds of health conditions in our time. I know it is not easy but with the grace of God we can do it.

May God help us to forgive easily. Amen. Have a blessed week.

Theme: Don’t follow the bad Examples of Your Leaders
(Is 1:10,16-20,Ps 50, Matt 23:1-12)

Jesus warned his disciples to listen to the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, but not to copy their bad examples. Because they were not living what they were preaching. Hence, if the disciples should focus on them, they will lose their salvation. The important thing is to take the message from them, because it is not their message but from God.

This situation is not different from our case in our modern era. Our leaders and especially our religious leaders increasingly have become preachers of the word but not it’s doers. They preach something else and live something else. They don’t walk their talks. They are supposed to be good examples for us to follow. But unfortunately, they have failed woefully in this regard. What do we do then? Should we say because of their bad examples we won’t listen to their good messages or we will follow their bad examples?

Jesus is saying that we should listen to whatever they say or preach and live it for the sake of our salvation. Beloved, this is a truth which is difficult to accept. But that is the reality about our human existence. If you want to follow the kind of life those in authority are living then we will fail. Because they will always disappoint us with their bad lives. The point is that God is going to judge us individually based on the kind of life we lived on this earth. You can’t go and tell God that because your priests or pastors were fornicating or stealing that is why you also did it. Definitely, you know the outcome.

Some of the conducts of our priests and pastors are very desheartening. Sometimes you can’t imagine a man of God or a woman God has done that, but it has happened. So because of that you refuse to go to church because you don’t want to listen to him or her. That person will meet his maker one day for judgement. Don’t allow him to mislead you with his bad life and end up in hell with him.

Our good lives sometimes challenges these leaders without our notice. Our lives also preach a lot to them. We can also spend sometime everyday and pray for such people for their conversion. That is the best thing we can do for them. We tend to condemn and criticize them more than praying for them. What they are doing we all agree that it is not good, but sometimes we can’t do much to help than to pray for them. I will also encourage people who have the power to draw their attention to have the courage to do so. Sometimes we see priests and pastors as gods who cannot be corrected. In fact, it is our responsibility to put them on the right path. I know some won’t listen but trust me some will give you a listening ear. The gossip about them has become too much. It is not helping issues.

May God grant us the grace and the strength to to help our religious leaders to live good lives. Amen .
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme :BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR AMBITIONS IN LIFE
( Jeremiah 18:18-20, Ps 31, Matt 20:17-28)

Is good to be ambitious in life, but too much of everything they say is bad. When Jesus talked about his death and resurrection to the disciples, the mother of the sons of Zebedee too went to Jesus to ask for positions for her sons. Every mother will want something good for her children.

Ambitions have blinded us to the extent that some of us have to destroy others to get what we want. Some go to the point of killing. No wonder there was divisions among the disciples when they heard about the issue.

Let’s use the right means to achieve what we want. But not through bribing and corruption and other foul means , which have become the order of the day. Make a difference in your life today as you hope to achieve something in life.

May God help us all to use the right means to achieve our ambitions in life. Amen.
Have a blessed day.

Theme: TRUST THE LORD ALWAYS
( Jeremiah 17:5-10, Ps 1, Luke 16:19-31)

The Christian journey is all about trusting the Lord all the time. And the first reading lays emphasis on that. We have no choice than to trust him, especially in difficult moments. He is capable of turning things around even beyond our understanding.

But some of us put our trust in humans rather than God. It is true that God uses humans to accomplish his purposes in our lives, but It doesn’t mean we should trust humans more than God. Our trust should first be in God before trusting our fellow humans. We should know that our fellow humans can fail us but God never fail. God is not saying that we should not trust our fellow humans, but the fact that we should not trust humans more than him(God).

Some of us have made some people gods of our lives, thinking that without those people we cannot survive in life. But we have forgotten that it is God who raises and touches the heart of people to help us. But for God those people wouldn’t have even thought to come to your aid in the first place. All the benefits we receive from people are happening through the providence of God. Therefore, don’t trust humans more than God but rather God more than humans, because humans can fail us but not God. Our trust shouldn’t end in humans, but should have its fulfilment or final end in God.

May God help us to always trust him. Amen. Have a blessed day.

Theme:DON’T LET ENVY RULE YOUR LIFE
( Gen 37:3-4,12-13,17-28, Ps105, Matt 21:33-43,45-46)

Envy is a serious emotional feeling that we must all guard against. The brothers of Joseph and the wicked tenants in the Parable of the Wicked Tenants found in the gospels, allowed themselves to be destroyed by this moral evil.

We must accept who others are and what they are. We must also be content with what we have and how far the Lord has brought us in life. The truth is we can never be like Kofi or Mary. The way God created us is different and we are gifted differently in life. All fingers they say are not the same. Someone is good in one area and another or you are also gifted in another area. If that is the case, why should we allow envy to destroy us to the point of even killing others?

We must learn to appreciate others and who they are,and allow their good works to rather motivate us in life. Envy is a powerful force which can make us monsters in life, if we don’t tame it.

May the Holy Spirit destroy any amount of envy in us so that we can live to appreciate others in life.Amen.

Have a blessed day.

Theme: AVOID SPIRITUAL PRIDE
( Micah 7:14-15,18-20, Ps 103, Lk 15: 1-3,11-32)

The parable of the Prodigal Son presents three characters in the time of Jesus and by extension our time. The merciful father represents God, the prodigal son represents the tax collectors and the others classified by the Pharisees as sinners, and the senior brother represents the Pharisees and the Scribes. It is the third character I would like to touch on.

The senior brother and for that matter the Pharisees and the Scribes looked down upon others as the worst sinners on earth. In fact, they didn’t consider themselves to be sinners. They were full of themselves. The holier than thou attitude is their identity. We need to accept the fact that we are all sinners before God, and no one is righteous. It is also true that some of us may be better or stronger in faith than others. But it doesn’t give us the chance to look down upon them as sinful and faithless fellows. We are rather to help them to also grow and get closer to God, as we are.

It is also true that some of us parade ourselves to be more spiritual than others , but in fact we are worst sinners than those we are classifying as most sinful people. This is what Jesus was pointing out to the Pharisees and their parties. Some of those people have their bad deeds made public, whiles ours is still secret so we think we are better than them. You and I are not better than those in prison, the difference is that they have been caught whiles we have not been caught.

May God help us to avoid spiritual pride. Amen.
Have a blessed weekend
