WORDS OF LIVING WATERS DAILY INSPIRATION
Monday,8th June, 2026.
Theme: The prayer of a righteous man is Powerful
( 1 Kings 17:1-6,Ps 121,Mt 5:1-12)

Beloved there is power in a faithful prayer. A prayer made in faith is capable of doing everything. Elijah prayed for the rains to stop for three and half years, and it was so. The words he uttered in faith became a reality. Elijah believed that strong faith in God can move mountains. As a man of God, he knew that he had power in him which is greater than the powers in the world.

Strong faith in Jesus is capable of doing greater things in our lives. A prayer made in faith does impossible things in our lives. Because there is power in that prayer.It is true that some of us have little faith in Jesus. In fact, I will say that we are babies in the faith. I invite you to grow in your faith in Jesus. We need to mature to the point when we believe in the transcending power of Jesus. The fact that he has the power to do everything.

Jesus is saying that if we have faith like the mustard seed, we can speak to mountains to move and they will obey us. He said nothing will be impossible for us to do.

Some of us have become doubting Thomas’ in our Christian life. We doubt almost everything in our lives. The very things we are praying for, we are doubting it. Then how can we experience the power of God in our lives? No wonder we don’t see any result in our prayers. Jesus says if we believe and have faith in him, we can do greater things than him. He has given us the power and authority to overcome all situations in life. In Christ, nothing is impossible.

We have some Christians and even some men of God who do not believe in miracles. Some of the things seems impossible for God to do according to them. But the point is, if Satan can give people power to work miracles, then how much more our God, who is powerful than Satan? Yes it is true that there are fake pastors who are not using the power of God to work these miracles. But it doesn’t mean that we don’t have genuine pastors or people who are using the power of God. Jesus can heal all forms of diseases, he can change all situations in our lives. Those who have faith in him are truly experiencing his wonders in their lives. You are not seeing anything because you are doubting too much.

Know that you have power in you as a Christian. And exercise that power and authority. Your prayer has a lot of effects as a believer. Therefore don’t belittle that prayer of yours which is made in faith. Begin to believe in the words that you utter during your prayer and know that they have a transforming effects.

May the Holy Spirit help us to always grow and mature in our faith and believe that our prayers have strong effects. Amen .

WORDS OF LIVING WATERS DAILY INSPIRATION
Tuesday, 9th June, 2026.
Theme: BE GENEROUS TOWARDS MINISTERS OF GOD
(1 Kings 17: 7-16,Ps 4, Mt 5:13-16)

The first reading teaches that there is reward for showing kindness to any minister of God. The little support for the ministry of his servants will be rewarded.The widow of Zarephath sacrificed all she had to survive for the wellbeing of prophet Elijah. Because of the drought, her household had exhausted all foodstuffs except a handful of flour and a little oil. As the prophet prophecied, the widow’s jar of flour never went empty and her jug of oil never went dried until the drought was over.An act of generosity for a man of God or for the work of God never goes unnoticed before Him.

This was the case of the rich woman of Shunem (2 Kg: 8-11, 14-16a). She built a rest stop for Elisha, the prophet of God. She was rewarded with a son, something she has been praying for years. Her prayers was answered through an act of generosity towards the Prophet Elisha.

Abraham also experienced the same thing when he received the three strangers who also promised him a son from Sarah after he received them in a more hospitable manner (Gen 18:1-16). Isaac was the gift that Abraham had through his act of kindness.

My dear friends, our acts of kindness towards our ministers of God and the work of God in general opens so many doors in our lives which sometimes we do not notice. To do good to a priest is to do good to Christ as He mentions in the gospels. These acts of kindness must be an act which comes from our hearts with a sound conscience of supporting and not courting our own hidden agenda. Some of us support them so that we can have our favours and control them. This is not what Christ is encouraging us to practice.

I must say some of us are misers in this regard. You don’t need much to share with your ministers. Your widow’s mite is enough. Some people share the little they have such as foodstuffs and other basic needs of their ministers. From my experience those who really support their priests genuinely, their oil never runs out in their homes. And many Catholics and other Christians will give testimonies in this regard. Certain doors are not opened by prayer alone but also with acts of charity.

Support is not all about material things but the emotional and psychological ones as well. Let the welfare of our ministers be dear to our heart because when they are sound in mind and heart that they can also minister to us in a worthy manner.

May the grace of God help us to always think of other’s wellbeing especially the ministers of God. Amen.

Wednesday, 10th June, 2026.
Promote the Laws of God by Your Life
( 1 Kings 18:20-39,Ps 16, Matt 5:17-19)

Jesus came to fulfill the laws which were given through the prophets of old but not to abolish them. Some of these laws were twisted by the Scribes and Pharisees to suit their own personal interest. He challenged them and indicated the original intentions of these laws which were given to them by God. He came to share more light on these laws.

As Christians, we are called to promote the commandments of God in the world.Through these laws we are to make God known among humanity. Beloved, if we want to receive God’s favours and blessings as his chosen people, then we have to obey his commandments by living good lives.Others must come to know the laws of God through us.

The life of some of us have discouraged others from going to church. Our lives have become counter witnesses to the gospel. If we allow his words to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, then his will surely will become a reality in our life. But we can’t decide to follow our fleshy desires and still hope to be his friends. God is the friend of sinners, but sinners who are ready to repent and keep his ordinances.

There is no middle way in following God. Either you are for him or you are against him. That is why Jesus told his disciples that those who promote his laws will be called great in his father’s kingdom, whiles those who do not will be called least in his father’s kingdom. The question we should be asking ourselves is; Is my life bringing people closer to Jesus or leading them away from Him? Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to take charge of our lives so that we can grow in the friendship of Christ.

May your life today promote the kingdom of God wherever you find yourself. Amen.

WORDS OF LIVING WATERS DAILY INSPIRATION
Thursday ,11th June,2026.
Memorial of St. Barnabas.
Theme: Be the Apostles of our Time
( Acts 11: 21-26;13:1-37,Ps 97, Mt 5: 20-26)

The apostles were the closest companions of Jesus. He specifically chose them to train them, so that they can continue his mission as ministers to his people. Before his Ascension, he charged them to carry his message to the entire world, of course that included the disciples. Truly, most of them had to die for their faith. The blood of the martyrs truly is the seed of the church . The apostles didn’t joke with the mission entrusted to them. Even in the face of persecutions, they still went ahead courageously to spread the good news. Barnabas whom we celebrate today was of no exception. He teamed up with Paul to spread the message among the gentiles. He was a close companion of Paul in his missionary activities.He played a key role in the evangelization of the gentiles.

Because of their hard work the message of Christ was able to reach most parts of the world, which includes our part of the world. They preached Christ both in word and in deed. They truly witnessed to Christ in power. This is what they are inviting you and I to follow.

The great commission has also reached our tend to continue (Matt 28:19-20). One thing we should understand is that, the work of God can’t be exhausted by one person or few groups of people. The work is so huge that it demands the efforts of all of us. It is not only for our priests or pastors, our catechists, our elders or in short our religious leaders. Each Christian is called to spread the message of Christ.

In fact, if we have the zeal of the apostles and for that matter the early Christians, we could change the world within a second. As the scripture says, ” zeal for my father’s house consumes me”. Their primary preoccupation was to spread the word of God. But frankly speaking, I don’t think you and I can boast of this zeal. Come to think of the early missionaries, who walked miles and travelled for long distances to preach Christ to others. Today we have the means but we are not ready to go. I could remember two missionaries were taking care of over 60 outstations, and I mean churches in my parish in Afram Plains. These people were able to reach out to all of them in less than two months.

Today some even have less than 10 outstations, but they can’t manage them well. The comfort is becoming too much in the ministry. We need to burn ourselves for the work of God. We can’t sit in our comfort zones and expect the message of Christ to spread. We need to go out and reach out to those yet to receive Christ and those who have backslided. Some people need to be re-evangelised, because they have either lost the faith or it is dying of. We are the legs, the hands, and the other parts of the body that Jesus needs to spread his word. Let’s avail ourselves and we shall truly be the apostles and the early missionaries of our time.

May the power of God touch us today so that we can truly become his messengers and instruments in this world. Amen .

Friday, 12th June, 2026.
Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
Theme: Let Your Heart Reflect the Love of Christ
(Deut 7:6-11,Ps 103, 1John 4:7-16, Mt 11:25-30)

The heart is a symbol of love, hence the sacred heart of Jesus represents the love that Jesus showed to the world. A heart which is the fountain of love to the world. Today we celebrate the virtue of love which is part of our human nature. We are created to love and be loved. Jesus came and died for all of us our sins without discriminating against any group of people. He pointed out to the Jews that he is a man for all people irrespective of our background.

Therefore we must also love without condition. The agape love must be the foundation of all our endeavors. Jesus loved us without condition, so we must also do same to others. First John says that we can’t claim to love God and hate our brothers and sisters, then we are deceiving ourselves. Because we can’t love someone we don’t see and refuse to love those we see and touch everyday, it is not possible. When we love our neighbors then we love God. Whatever we do to these little ones, it is Jesus that we do unto.

We should open our heart to everybody, whether the person is from our tribe or not, whether we attend the same church or not, whether we are neighbors or not, whether I know the person or not. Again, the baptismal water we have received must be thicker than blood relations and other social affiliations. The love of God must transcend all this, but unfortunately we have allowed these affiliations to control our love for people.

Again,we are called upon to reflect on what motivates our actions. Do I do what I do because of a personal interest or because it is part of my nature to love people?

May the Holy Spirit help us to imitate the unconditional love of Jesus, and may our lives preach his love to the world. Amen.

WORDS OF LIVING WATERS DAILY INSPIRATION
Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Saturday,13th June, 2026.
Theme: Learn to be Reflective in Life.
(1 Kg 19:19-21,Ps 16,Lk 2:41-51)

Beloved, one of the key virtues our Mother Mary teaches us is the virtue of silence. The fact of reflecting over issues in her heart. Today when they found the child Jesus in the temple, we are told she pondered over these issues in her heart. Again, when they presented him in the temple and they encountered Simeon and the prophetess Anna, who said a lot about the child, we are told she kept everything in her heart and pondered over them. It means that this was a woman who was not a talkative, she preferred to pray more about issues which come her way. To be reflective is to pray more about issues silently. She was not a type who complains and want everybody to hear about her case.

This is the virtue she is teaching us to learn today. We are to keep things more in our hearts and pray over them. This also implies that we must learn to keep secrets from people. It is not everything you go out there to broadcast for people to hear. Some of us don’t know how to keep secrets. Please it is not everything we share with people. Some things must be secrets between you and your God. Don’t even share it with your best friend. People are wicked and can use that information to cause your downfall. Whether it is a positive information or a negative one keep it to yourself.

Avoid complaining too much about your issues. The time you will spend to complain, please use it to pray about the issue for God’s intervention. Some of us complain too much and we do less about praying over the issue. The very people you are complaining to might even be the cause of the problem. You are rather giving them more information to harm you. Humans are very cunning, so be very careful. Not everybody who claims to sympathize with you is doing so with a good heart. Some people will be going round to spread the issue and even add more to destroy you.

In the case of Mary, these were positive things concerning her child and herself. She didn’t go round bragging about her child and the fact that she has given birth to the Saviour of the world. If it were some of us, the whole world will hear about us. We will broadcast for everybody to hear. Please spirits also have ears, so please learn to keep good fortunes and good news about you or your child or your family or your friends in secrets.

The loud mouth of some parents have killed their children. Some have brought misfortunes to them instead. Your child or someone close to you had gotten a great opportunity and informed you about it. But because of your loud mouth, others heard about it and they had to work against it either spiritually or physically. If God is not on the side of such a person, that will be the end of him or her. You talk too much. Learn to be silent sometimes.

The power of silent prayer is the greatest tool against the enemy. They wouldn’t know what is going on in your life and what God is preparing for you. In that case, they are always scared of the unexpected situations. Always put people in suspense. Don’t let them easily predict your future. They can easily do that based on what you feed them.

May God help us to be reflective Christians in qqour lives. Amen .
