Theme: Allow the Holy Spirit to use You
(Acts 6:8-15, Ps 119, Jn 6:22-29)
We must become docile to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. St. Stephen allowed the spirit of God to direct him in his Christian journey, scriptures says hence he was full of grace and power. As a result God used him to perform great wonders and signs among the people. Even though some people stood against him because of this, but they couldn’t withstand his wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke.
People must come to experience the power of God through us. Some of us truly if we allow the Holy Spirit to use us, the wonders of God would be manifested through us. We have a lot of potentials for the gifts of God to mature and grow in us. Just like the way God performed great deeds and wonders through the disciples, he also wants to do same through us.
The power of the Spirit can transform us and make us the medium of God’s grace and favour to humanity. People must receive the touch of Jesus through us. Some of us are also having the gifts but we are not fanning them into flames. We are not maturing in them. We have to become the Stephens and the disciples of our time, where the power of God is shown to the world through us.
May his resurrection power touch us today and make us his vessels of power and great wonders in the lives of people. Amen .
Have a Blessed day and a happy week.

Theme: Don’t be a Miracle Seeking Christian
(Acts 7:51-8:1, Ps 31, Jn 6:30-35)
The Jews wanted a sign or a miracle from Jesus before they will believe in him. These were people who have seen a lot of signs and wonders from Jesus but still didn’t believe in him. The truth is that Jesus performed these signs and wonders for people to believe in him and his message as the Messiah sent by God.
Miracles in our Christian context should lead people to faith in Jesus Christ. But you and I can testify that this is not the case at our time. Some of these pastors who claim to be miracle workers only look for fame and riches. Some even use evil powers to perform these miracles. Some are also faking these signs and wonders that they perform. But some are also using the spirit of God to perform these signs.
A number of our people are only seeking miracles in their lives, but not to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. Most of them have no personal relationship with Jesus. They only want a solution to their problems in life. It is not about believing in Jesus and gaining salvation. Precisely why they don’t even discern well to know the calibre of person they are going to or the source of his or her power. They only want solution to their problems, whether the source is good or evil they don’t care.
But the truth is that miracle follow those who seek to do the will of God in their lives always. Once we follow his commandments, his power will also manifest in our lives. Problems will come, challenges will come but he will deliver us through his powerful hand. Some of us are roaming too much and have become prostitute Christians . Unless we don’t hear of any pastor or someone doing miracles, we will get there immediately.
The Christian life is not all about signs and wonders. Our ultimate goal is to gain salvation. These signs and wonders are to help us to achieve this. Hence, miracles become means but they are not an end in themselves. It is important to note that we have genuine men and women of God who are using the right spirit of God to perform signs and wonders. It is a lie to say that signs and wonders don’t exist in Christianity. If Satan can perform them then why not God, who is powerful than Satan? The difference is that the purposes are different and besides the miracles from God are lasting whiles Satan’s own doesn’t.
May his resurrection power touch us today so that we don’t become miracle seeking Christians in this world. Amen .
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme: God walks on Crooked Ways
(Acts 8:1-8:, Ps 66, Jn 6:35-40)
The early church faced great persecution after the death of Stephen. The saying that the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church is truly the case. The Jews thought they were eradicating the young church by persecuting some key personalities and frustrating the rest. But they didn’t know that they were rather helping to spread the message of Christ. As the other apostles and disciples flee for their lives, they continued to spread the gospel message. That’s how come the message of Christ was able to get to the other parts of the world and by extension to us.
The Jews intended evil but God turned it for good. The same way they killed Jesus thinking all was over, but little did they know that they were rather promoting the purpose of God for humanity. It is the same way for us believers, people can plan evil for us but sometimes these are the very ways God’s will must be fulfilled in our lives.
Sometimes the pain and suffering is not easy for us to bear, but with the grace of God we can endure it. Don’t let us depend on our own strength but on God who has called us. Some of us fail and give up because we don’t turn to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
May be what you are going through is the will of God in your life. God wants to use such human weaknesses to manifest his power.
Wait on him in prayer for his own moment of deliverance. Some of us wait on him whiles we do nothing. Waiting for us as people of faith doesn’t mean doing nothing but rather moments to grow deeper in our faith. These are moments to look out for new opportunities God is offering us and to learn more at the feet of Jesus. Sometimes he wants to prepare us in a special way for the task ahead, but as humans as we are, we fail to get it.
I know you are going through a lot but seek out the purpose of God in such difficult times.
Joseph sought out the will of God in such moments and realized that there was a finger of God in the evil acts of his brothers. Things happen for a reason and we need to seek out this reason. Don’t become bitter with the situation and with people who put you in such mess. You will rather destroy yourself emotionally and lose focus in life. Remember Jesus is in the boat of life with you. Continue to trust him. His ways are always different from ours.
May his resurrection power touch us today so that we can understand his ways. Amen .
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme: Jesus, the Bread of Life
(Acts 8:26-40:, Ps 66, Jn 6:44-51)
Jesus continues with his bread of life discourse in John 6. If Jesus lives in you, then you are sure of attaining eternal life. Jesus feeds us with his word everyday, but more importantly through the communion that we receive, he comes to dwell in us. As he himself said, ” He who eats my body and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in him”.
It is his body and blood and his word which feeds our souls everyday. Our soul which is the spiritual dimension of our being also needs to grow daily in the Lord. We need to be in communion with Jesus every moment of our lives. This must begin with a personal relationship with him. There must be a daily contact with him through prayer and meditation on his word. Without this daily efforts,we cannot grow in Jesus. Jesus can’t become the Lord of our lives if we don’t mature in this personal relationship with him.We need to allow him to feed us with himself everyday.
If we want to go to heaven, then we have to be in touch with the bread of life. Unfortunately, most of us are not serious with our spiritual lives. We don’t care about our salvation. We are only focused on our work to the neglect of our spiritual man. As Catholics, how many of us are able to go for daily Mass, even when we have all the time to make it?I know other churches also have this daily devotions and church service, how many of us are able to make it? We are so concerned with material things.
Those who live in him even if they die they shall live, because he will raise them up on the last day. I want to ask you, have you prayed this morning and read your bible before going out? If no then you have failed, try and be constant with this activity.
May his resurrection power touch us today so that we can mature in a personal relationship with him, who is the bread of Life. Amen . Have a Blessed Day.
Shalom. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Theme: Accept Repented People into the Family of Believers
(Acts 9:1-20:, Ps 117, Jn 6:52-59)
Saul was a persecutor of the infant church and was on his way to Damascus to continue this mission. He encountered Jesus in a vision , which was the turning point in his life. The man who was an enemy of the church has now become a promoter of the same faith. But the early church was not sure of the conversion of Saul. It was difficult for them to accept him because they knew him as the old Saul and not as a changed man.
Beloved, we also treat people in the same way when truly they have changed. We fail to accept the fact that they are new people in Christ. We still see them as prostitutes, thieves, cheats, liars and so on. We should know that when someone is in Christ, he is a new creature, behold the old is gone and the new has come.
People can really change and we must accept them when this transformation takes place in their lives. Of course, it is true that some people can fake it, but by their fruits we will know whether there is a change or not. Everybody has a history, which is about our old self.
Some of us behave as if some people can’t truly repent, but our story is not different from this people. People who are known to be harden sinners, when they repent become great instruments of the Lord. No wonder St. Paul has become the greatest missionary ever in the history of Christianity. None of the apostles could even match him in terms of reaching out to people with the word of God. That’s how the spirit of God works.
The best we can do for them is to encourage and guide them to mature in their new found faith just as the early Christians did for Paul. We don’t have to despise them. Jesus came because of sinners and not for the righteous.
May his resurrection power touch us today so that we can learn to accept repentant sinners in our midst. Amen . Have a Blessed Day.

Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist
Saturday, 25th April, 2026.
Theme: Promote the spirit of team work in the spread of the Gospel
( 1 Pet 5:5b-14, Ps 89, Mk 16:15-20)
Today, we celebrate St. Mark who was also John Mark, an important collaborator of Sts. Paul and Barnabas (Acts 12:25, 15:39),Peter(1 Pet 5:13), and Timothy(2 Ti 4:11) in their pastoral ministries. Even though he wasn’t at the forefront, but he supported these great men in spreading the gospel, especially to the gentile territories. He was a great companion to these great men of God. In fact, this people realized that they couldn’t have done the work alone or they can’t do the work alone, hence the need for more hands. And truly no one can do the work of God alone. Definitely you would need people to help you to accomplish the mission of Christ in your life. For St. Paul and as the apostle to the gentiles and the greatest missionary of all time, he couldn’t have achieved this feet without the collaboration of some of this people such as John Mark.
Jesus Christ who was God and our Savior for that matter sought out for collaborators. He realized that he needed people to join in his mission. That’s why he had to appoint the twelve apostles to assist him and also continue the work after his death. Aside his apostles, he chose some of his disciples and even sent them on mission, according to the gospel passages. He couldn’t have done it alone, not at all. Precisely why he told his disciples to pray to the master of the harvest to send more labourers to his vineyard. The kingdom business is too big for anybody or any group of people to accomplish alone. Not even Jesus was able to finish it in his life time, not to talk about us.
Beloved, it is very sad when some of us behave as if to say that we can do all the work of God. How possible can that be? Please have you ever sat down to think about it? The fact that you alone can’t finish the work. Someone was one time complaining that another person was taking his work, hence she was fighting the person in the church. She succeeded in discouraging the young lady, who finally had to leave the church. What a sad story. Won’t you even appreciate the fact that someone wants to help you to spread the work of God. Some of us behave as if God is for us alone, or we are the only children of God. Even if God is for you alone, his work can’t be accomplished by you alone. You need people to help you.
The point is that our very mission that has been entrusted to us to do can’t be accomplished by us alone. You need people to assist you in order to accomplish this individual task. Salvation of souls is a collective efforts. You even need people to help you to attain your salvation. You can’t achieve it alone. Then why are you discouraging people who also wants to contribute their little to promote God’s kingdom? We all have our various roles to play to achieve this collective objective. That’s why God has endowed us with various gifts for such purpose.
Begin to learn to believe in team work and collaborative ministry as well. Involve people in your line of duty. Groom people to carry on with the work you are doing. Believe in division of labour. Some of us wants to do everything without considering involving people. How long will you survive? In no time you would be tired. Some have tried and they are already tired, they wish to quickly handover to others.
May the Holy Spirit grant us the grace today so that we can learn to employ team spirit in our various ministries. Amen .
Have a Blessed Day.
Shalom. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
