Theme:BE CLEANSED OF YOUR LEPROSY
( 2 Kg 5:1-15, Ps 42, Lk 4:24-30)
Leprosy was a disgraceful disease among the Israelites and in the time of Jesus. The case for me is not different in our time. One became an outcast, because you couldn’t mingle with people but remained at the outskirts of the town or city. Therefore, it was a disease that no one wished for others not even for your enemies. And this was the situation that Naaman, the Syrian Commander found himself. No wonder he became desperate in seeking for a cure. Even though he wasn’t a Jew, but the situation wasn’t different.
Our leprosy is one of spiritual case, which is sin. We are all lepers needing cleansing from Jesus. Sin has put us in a disgraceful state that we need Jesus to deliver us. It has equally disconnected us from God and our fellow humans.
Again, any situation in our lives which has brought shame and discomfort in our lives, I consider as leprosy. Some of these situations make us shy to even go to public places. It might be marriage issue just like the the Samaritan woman, your work, finances, family issues to mention a few. I pray today for you that God should deliver you from all forms of leprosy in your life. So that you can become whole again just like Naaman, the Syrian Commander.
Trust the cleansing power of God, that he is able to do all things. I know the God I worship, therefore I want you to also put all your hope in him. He will never fail.
May God cleanse us from all our leprosy today. Amen .
Have a blessed week.

Theme:FORGIVE FROM YOUR HEART
( Dan 3:2,11-20, Ps 25, Matt 18:21-35)
Jesus once again teaches his disciples and by extension us, about the virtue of forgiveness, by using the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. Some of us are just like this unforgiving servant. Others forgive us when we wrong them, but that cannot be said of us. We always sin against God but he forgives us. If God should always mark our sins, who will survive?( Ps 130:3). Jesus told Peter to forgive seventy times seven, meaning we should forgive without number. Tit for tat is not in the dictionary of a Christian. You do me I do you should not be part of us.
The spirit of unforgiveness is giving a number of us serious health problems unconsciously. Such as heart related problems, BP, mental issues and others. Beloved, I know it is not easy humanly speaking, but it is possible. To err they say is human but to forgive is divine. Our own strength will fail, hence the need of God’s grace.
I know someone has hurt you so much that it is becoming difficult to forgive that person. My brother, my sister find a place in your heart to let go that hurt. You can forgive that person, therefore I encourage you to let go. It may be someone who is very close to you and you least expected that person to do that. Don’t imprison anybody in your heart. Free the person from your heart and be free. The more you keep him or her in your heart, the more you hurt yourself. Let’s take inspiration from Joseph who was sold by his brothers into slavery, but he found a place in his heart to forgive them (Gen 37- 45, 50: 15-21).
May God help us to forgive truly from our heart. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme:Promote the Laws of God by Your Life
( Deut. 4:1,5-9, Ps 147, Matt 5:17-19)
Moses encouraged the Israelites to obey the laws of God as they settled in the Promised Land. These were people who were going to live among idol worshippers, hence the need to caution them not to abandon their God. They were to make their God known among their neighbors. But the truth is that at some point in their lives as a nation, they followed their neighbors and disobeyed God.
Beloved, if we want to receive God’s favours and blessings as his chosen people, then we have to obey his commandments by living good lives and not like the Israelites.Others must come to know the laws of God through us. The life of some of us have discouraged others from going to church. Our lives have become counter witnesses to the gospel. If we allow his words to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, then his will surely will become a reality in our life. But we can’t decide to follow our fleshy desires and still hope to be his friends.
God is the friend of sinners, but sinners who are ready to repent and keep his ordinances. There is no middle way in following God. Either you are for him or you are against him. That is why Jesus told his disciples that those who promote his laws will be called great in his father’s kingdom, whiles those who do not will be called least in his father’s kingdom.
The question we should be asking ourselves is; Is my life bringing people closer to Jesus or leading them away from Him? Let’s allow the Holy Spirit to take charge of our lives so that we can grow in the friendship of Christ.
May your life today promote the kingdom of God wherever you find yourself. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme: Avoid the spirit of Negativity
(Jere. 7:23-28, Ps 95, Lk 11:14-23)
Some of us are not different from the Pharisees who never saw anything good about Jesus. They accused him of using the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons for his healing ministry. They never appreciated whatever Jesus did.
You and I always see negative in what people do. Mostly, this attitude is as a result of envy and jealousy. We need to appreciate people and what they do in life. We need to be objective about people. When they do something good say it, likewise when they do something bad. But don’t see anything they do to be bad when actually that is not the case. In fact, the spirit of negativity is a serious demon that most of us will need to be delivered from its bondage. Especially in this season of Lent. There is goodness in others just like ourselves. I want you to appreciate someone today. Being positive about people tends to help us to grow in our self – image.
May God help us to appreciate people and what they do. Amen. Have a Blessed Day.

*Theme: Let Love be the Foundation of your Endeavors
( Ho 14 :2-10, Ps 81, Mk 12:28-34)
The commandment of love is what Jesus teaches us today to make the pillar of all our activities. He summarised the commandments into love of God and neighbor . Nothing should be the motivation of what we do except love. We are called to check what motivates our entire human activities. And the kind of love he is talking about is the agape type.
Some of us do what we do especially in church for so many reasons. Some for material gains, some for favours, some for positions etc. The same is also for what we do for our neighbors. Some other reasons for which we do things for others include sex, fame, etc. Some of us are so selfish in doing good for others. We do them because of our personal gains. The I syndrome is what control our lives. We are too egoistic in life. We must do good to people because of true love, I mean for the love of God. Our love is very erroneous which needs to be purified.
I want you to reflect deeply today about the kind of love which influence what we do for the church and for our neighbors. I encourage you to love God with all your heart, soul, strength, mind. In short, love God with your whole being. We must also love other people just the way we love ourselves. The way we want good things for ourselves, we should wish the same thing for others through the good we do for them. Let love be the hallmark of your entire activities in this life.
May we allow the commandment of love rule our lives as children of God.Amen.
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme: Stop Judging Others and Focus on Yourself
(Hos 6:1-6, Ps 51, Lk 18:9-14)
Beloved in Christ, the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector teaches us a lot about our Christian faith. Most of us easily points fingers at others, declaring them as the most sinful people on this earth. This was the character of the Pharisees and the Scribes. They classified some people as the most sinful people, whiles in actual fact they are in that category. The evil things that we do which is in secret is worst than those whom we are judging and condemning. Sometimes we are only projecting what we are on others. Stop parading your self-righteousness before others and accept that you are a sinner who needs God’s mercy.
The Pharisee didn’t accept himself as a sinner who needs God’s mercy. No one is righteous before God. Our righteousness is like a filthy rag before God. When we are talking about the sins of others we should ask ourselves, what about me? We are not better than those we are broadcasting as public sinners. May be your bad life has not come to light. That is why I always say we are not better than those in prison. Is just that we have not been caught.
You are also a sinner,so sit down and reflect on your life to detect the areas which you need to work on. It is only by doing this that we can mature as Christians.
Jesus is not by this saying that we can’t correct people when they go wrong. Not at all. We have a duty to remain the conscience of our societies. But we have to always behave like the Tax Collector and not the Pharisee.
May God help us to acknowledge our sinful nature and work on them.Amen.
Have a Blessed Weekend.
