Theme: Jesus, our Deliverer
( Hosea 2:16,17-18,21-22,Ps 145, Mat. 9:18-26)
Jesus is our mighty healer and our deliverer. The story of the woman who suffered from hemorrhage for twelve good years and the little girl who was raised from death, should give us hope in Jesus. The fact that with Jesus in our boat of life, there is no need for us to be afraid and be hopeless.The ruler had hope in Jesus that even though his daughter was dead, Jesus had the power to raise her up.
I know certain situations are weighing us down. Some of us have prayed for long and we are not seeing any result. We have either given up or about to give up.Jesus can bring life into the dead and hopeless situations in your life. He is able to turn things around in your life for your good. Never give up, just trust the Lord. It is a matter of time, your moment is almost at the corner. Keep on waiting on hm. One day you will also tell your story. Maybe he is delaying to prepare something special for you. Jesus never fails and there is nothing beyond him.
May God grant us the grace to always trust in his power of deliverance . Amen.

Tuesday, 7th July, 2026.
Theme: The work of God needs more Hands
( Hosea 8: 4-7,11-13, Ps 115, Mat 9:32-38)
Jesus in the gospel of today, entreat us to pray to his father to send more labourers into his vineyard. Jesus himself acknowledged that the kingdom business is not for a selected few.In fact, he himself realized that he couldn’t have done the work alone or he can’t do the work alone, hence the need for more hands. And truly no one can do the work of God alone. Definitely you would need people to help you to accomplish the mission of Christ in your life.
Jesus Christ who was God and our Savior for that matter sought out for collaborators. He realized that he couldn’t do it alone. That’s why he had to appoint the twelve apostles to assist him and also continue the work after his death. Aside his apostles, he chose some of his disciples and even sent them on mission, according to the gospel passages. He couldn’t have done it alone, not at all.The kingdom business is too big for anybody or any group of people to accomplish alone.Not even Jesus was able to finish it in his life time, not to talk about us.
Beloved, it is very sad when some of us behave as if to say that we can do all the work of God. How possible can that be? Please have you ever sat down to think about it? The fact that you alone can’t finish the work. Someone was one time complaining that someone was taking his work, hence she was fighting the person in the church. She succeeded in discouraging the young lady,who finally had to leave the church. What a sad story. Won’t you even appreciate the fact that someone wants to help you to spread the work of God. Some of us behave as if God is for us alone, or we are the only children of God. Even if God is for you alone, his work can’t be accomplished by you alone. You need people to help you.
The point is that our very mission that has been entrusted to us to do can’t be accomplished by us alone. You need people to assist you in order to accomplish this individual task. Salvation of souls is a collective efforts. You even need people to help you to attain salvation. You can’t achieve it alone. Then why are you discouraging people who also wants to contribute their little to promote God’s kingdom? We all have our various roles to play to achieve this collective objective. That’s why God has endowed us with various gifts for such purpose.
Begin to learn to believe in team work and collaborative ministry as well. Involve people in your line of duty. Groom people to carry on with the work you are doing. Believe in division of labour. Some of us wants to do everything without considering involving people. How long will you survive? In no time you would be tired. Some have tried and they are already tired, they wish to quickly handover to others.
May the Holy Spirit grant us the grace to always pray for more labourers in God’s vineyard. Amen .

Wednesday, 8th July, 2026.
Theme: Jesus has given us Power and Authority
(Hosea 10:1-3,7-8,12,Ps 105, Mt 10:1-7)
Jesus gave power and authority to the twelve apostles and by extension the disciples over all demons, and to cure diseases as he sent them on mission. In Mk 6:7-13, we are told that they cast out many demons and healed many from their sicknesses. They accomplished these great deeds through the power Jesus bestowed on them. In Luke 10:19, Jesus indicates that he has given us power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by anything hurt us.
Jesus didn’t say he has given us power over some of the demons, but all the demons. The disciples truly utilized this power and authority given to them in their various ministries. There were times when the unclean demons in certain people couldn’t withstand the presence of Jesus likewise the disciples. They confessed and had to submit to the authority of Jesus.
Beloved, there is power in the name of Jesus. By the mention of that name, all knees shall bow and all tongues shall confess that Jesus is truly Lord. There is no name in the heavens or the earth that can withstand the power in the name of Jesus. We must come to this realization as believers and stop entertaining unnecessary fears in our lives. If you have Jesus at your side, why should you be afraid of situations or forces of darkness? Not at all.
Because of the power in us through the name of Jesus, evil spirits are afraid of us. Unfortunately, we are also afraid of them. We have undermined the power in us. That’s why they have the power to manipulate and always frighten us. Some of us are even afraid of certain people because of the powers we claim they have, even more than the God we worship. They and God or Jesus who is more powerful?
We belittle the power in us too much. Let’s prove to them that what lives in us is greater and powerful than them. We should have the edge to always rebuke these forces. In fact, let them know their level. We should let them know that they are nothing at all before Jesus. Don’t joke with the power in you. That power can move mountains.
As the disciples exercised this power to overcome the evil spirits, today I want you to also have that authority to rebuke any evil forces who have orchestrated any evil plans in your life. Don’t allow them to destroy the good things in your life, in the family, at the work place, in the church. Pray till they feel uncomfortable and have to pack their things and leave.
You and I know the mighty deeds that the disciples did through the power given to them. They delivered people from all forms of bondage of the devil. We have that power to also deliver people and ourselves from all forms of spiritual and physical bondage of the devil. You have that power, hence don’t be afraid. Don’t give up to those happenings in your life. Exercise that power now.
May the Holy Spirit give us the power and authority to overcome all forces in our lives. Amen.

Thursday, 9th July, 2026.
Theme: You have received without pay, Give without pay
(Hosea 11:1-4,8-9, Ps 80 Matt 10:7-15)
Religious exploitation has become too much among us, especially in our African societies. These men and women of God are taking undue advantage of our people. People are facing a lot of challenges in their lives, hence they have become so desperate to find solutions to these problems. It is in the light of this that some of our own people have also devise ways and means to extort money from them. Some are ready to even sell all their properties in order to get out of these difficulties.
Instead of working to serve God and our people, most of our men and women of God have turned it into business avenue. Such people are not interested in the salvation of these innocent souls. They are only looking at ways of tricking their innocent victims to enrich themselves. Today we can talk of consultation fee, selling of items at huge prices and other forms of exploitations. Some people charge as much as Gh 2000 cedis for consultation fee, and people are paying. Please let’s be wise a bit. Because of situations we find ourselves, we allow ourselves to be fooled and cheated. We should also reason a bit. Some of them you could just see that they are deceiving you, but still we go to such places.
The gifts of God given us is to be used to serve the people freely. The fact that Jesus says a worker deserves his wages implies that, God will touch his people to take care of us. Hence, when you are given anything in the course of attending to the people of God, take it in good faith. Because you deserve it. That’s how God takes care of people working in his vineyard. Many people will give a number of testimonies in this regard. Most of the times you don’t ask people for anything, but God open their hearts to know your needs. There is no one who serves God faithfully and goes hungry. God will always take care of you.
Material possessions should not become our focus in this ministry. Unfortunately, that has become the order of the day. We even see some of these pastors challenging themselves with worldly materials such as cars, buildings and so forth. These are not true men and women of God,who are called. They are the wolves in sheep skin. Therefore, we must shine our eyes.
May his grace help us not to allow material things to become the focus of our ministry. And may we not allow ourselves to be exploited. Amen .

Friday, 10th July, 2026
Theme: Don’t be afraid of Your Persecutors
( Hosea 14:2-10,Ps 51, Mat 10:16-23)
Jesus didn’t find it easy in the hands of the very people he was serving. These people plotted to kill him and they succeeded killing him, simply because he stood for the truth. The early Christians faced similar situations. They suffered in the hands of the Jewish leaders on account of their faith.
In the gospel reading, Jesus is telling us that some of these persecutors will be our own relatives and family members. People who are so close to us. They will stand against us because of our faith in Jesus.
When we stand to do the right thing, we will have a lot of oppositions. From our families, church, work places and so forth. But we should never give up, because of the treatment we receive from them. Beloved, in life you will definitely have people who will always plot against you. Don’t expect everyone to love you, some people will naturally hate you. Sometimes for no genuine reasons.
Our way of life challenges these people, hence the only way for them to continue their evils is to destroy you. Some will project negatives about you to make you unpopular. Humans in general do not like people who stand to do the right thing always, especially in our world of today. In such moments, stand firm and look up to God for your protection and deliverance.
Your God will never abandon you in their hands. They may seem to be on the winning side but God will come to your aid at the right moment. Continue to be the conscience to them, especially in this corrupt world of our time. When everybody seems to be enjoying the fruits of corruption.
Don’t follow the crowd to also do the wrong thing. Even if everybody is corrupt at your work place, you should be the only person who stands tall among them. One day they will appreciate you. We are called to be credible witnesses and not counter witnesses. The double standard way of life can’t promote the kingdom of God. If we also do what they are doing, how can we create the difference in our societies? Don’t be afraid to be insulted, disgraced, unfavored, hated, because of doing the right thing. That makes us true followers of Christ.
May God grant us the grace to stand persecutions and be the conscience of the people. Amen.

Saturday, 11th July, 2026
Memorial of St Benedict
Theme: God calls and makes us worthy Servants
( Is 6:1-8,Ps 93, Mat 10:24-33)
The prophet Isaiah in the first reading expresses his unworthiness before God. He accepted his human limitations when he was called by God to be his mouth piece to the people of Israel. ” I am a man of unclean lips, and live among people of unclean lips” Is 6:5b.
Beloved, no one deserves to be servant of God. No one is perfect enough to become an instrument of God. It is he who calls and perfect us. You don’t become a servant of God by your own merit. No, nobody merits his calling. Jesus stated clearly in John 15:16 and I quote ” You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit….”
Nobody should boast about his calling into the vineyard of God. Because if it is about worthiness, then you are far from it. Don’t think because of your prayer life, or your way of life that’s why God has made you his instrument. Remember that our holiness is like a filthy rag before God.
Every Christian must come to this realization, and that makes you a mature Christian. The fact that you admit your nothingness before God each day before him. We depend on him entirely for the life he has called us into.
All the prophets declared their unworthiness before God when he called them. Jeremiah and Moses admitted they don’t know how to speak and Jeremiah will continue that he is a only a boy ( Jere 1:6). But God still used them for the purpose of his calling. He prepared them according to his own will and sent them forth. We have to also asked the Lord always to prepare us according to his own will for the mission he has entrusted into our care.
May God grant us the grace to always humble ourselves and accept our humanness before him . Amen.
