Theme:BE GENEROUS TO OTHERS
( Lev. 19:1-2,11-18, Ps 19, Matt 25: 31-46)

One of the virtues we are called to mature in so far as the season of Lent is concerned is our acts of charity. Our acts of charity will gain us our salvation. These acts of charity that Jesus mentions today in the gospel is what we refer to as ” the corporal works of mercy “.

Let us remember that, when we do good to others, it is Jesus we are doing it to. When we help others, it is Jesus we are helping. We are always to see Jesus in our brothers and sisters. ” Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, you do it for me ” according to Jesus. Give till it hurts.

Some of us are so possessive to the extent that we find it difficult to give generously from our heart. Meanwhile, we want others to give us. Let’s follow the golden rule ” Do unto others what you want them to do for you “. Help someone today by being charitable.

May God help us to grow in our acts of charity. Amen.
Have a blessed week.

Theme:BE A PRAYERFUL CHRISTIAN
(Is 55:10-11,Ps 34, Matt 6:7-15)

Jesus in the gospel taught his disciples how to pray. Therefore, we are also called to be strong in our prayer life as Christians. And more importantly,in this period of Lent, you and I are to renew our prayer lives. It takes a man or a woman of prayer to overcome the storms of life.

Precisely why there is a saying that ” a prayerful Christian is a powerful christian, and a prayer less Christian is a powerless christian”. When we are weak in prayer, we easily give up in life, because we are not rooted in Christ. Our lives must be anchored in Christ, so that we can have a strong spiritual foundation. And so I ask you have you prayed this morning?

May the Holy Spirit make us prayer warriors in this Christian journey and in this season. Amen.
Have a blessed day.

Theme:IF YOU LISTEN TO HIS VOICE TODAY HARDEN NOT YOUR HEART
(Jonah 3:1-10, Ps 51, Lk 11:29-32)

Beloved in Christ, the word of God calls us to repent from our sins and believe God’s message. The people of Nineveh repented and accepted the message of God through Jonah. God relented and withdrew the punishment he wanted to met out unto them.

Our sins has its consequences even on earth here. Some of us have hardened our heart to the extent that, we don’t seem to hear any message of caution. This posture was not different from that of the Pharisees, who refused to accept the message of salvation brought by Jesus.

Brethren in Christ, life they say is so short, hence the need to make amends and repent now. We have only the now but not the future. Because anything can happen at any point in time. Don’t be like the rich man who was looking for second chance after his death. Like I know they say is always at last. Ask yourself whether the life you are living when you die right now, you can be with God in heaven.

Don’t deceive yourself that there is no hell. Heaven and hell are real. Therefore, repent now and be saved.

May the Holy Spirit help us with his strength to change from our evil ways and be saved. Amen .
Have a Blessed day

Theme: Never give up in Prayer
(Es 14:1,3-4,11,13-14, Ps 138, Mat 7:7-12)

After teaching his disciples how to pray, Jesus encourages them to continue to persevere in prayer. You can pray but if you don’t persevere, you may not see results.Whoever perseveres in prayer receives a positive result.

Esther in the first reading persevered in prayer, she never gave up. Even though the mission she sort after seemed impossible. She remained focus and determined until she achieved a positive result.

Continue to wait on the Lord in prayer. Your right moment will come. It is a matter of time and your story will change. Never give up, surely God will answer you at the appointed time.

Someone has given up in his situation. You think that God has abandoned you and the fact that God can’t do it for you again. Please nothing is too late for him to do and nothing is too hard for him to do. In fact, God is never late in any situation. He is always on time.Nothing is impossible for God to do and as I always say what God can’t do doesn’t exist

It doesn’t matter how long you have been waiting on the Lord. You only need to wait on him for his own time. This is the challenge of us Christians, the fact of waiting. The spirit of waiting eludes us most of the time. We fail to wait and as a result, we end up going to other sources for help. Please have the courage to wait on the Lord, whiles you continue to seek his face in prayer. God’s time is always the best. As humans as we are it is not easy to wait, especially when it seems to be delaying. If you should find yourself in such situations you would understand. Please try to sympathize with such people and encourage them. Maybe if you were in their shoes, you wouldn’t have survived.

God would come to your aid and deliver you. Your moment will come. God will shame those who think all is over for you. Just trust him and hope in him. We have a God who never fails, so never give up. Stop crying and be strong because your moment of deliverance is just at the corner. Your God has a track record of doing mighty deeds in our lives. He has never fail and he will never fail you.

May God strengthen us never to give up even in difficult moments. Amen.
Have a blessed day.

Theme: BE UNIQUE AS A CHRISTIAN
( Ez 18:21-28, Ps 130, Matt 5:20-26)

Beloved in Christ, Jesus is calling on us to be different from the people of the world. The way we live our lives should not be the same as people who don’t know God. It will not make sense for a worldly person to be told to go and reconcile with someone who has offended him or her. Mostly, it is the offender who is expected to go and beg for forgiveness and smoke peace with the one he or she has offended.

But Jesus says we should do the opposite as people of faith. In other words, we should go beyond the normal way of life. We are to go the extra mile, which demands God’s grace to live this life.

May the Holy Spirit help us to go the extra mile in living out our Christian virtues. Amen.

Have a blessed day.

Theme: LOVE YOUR ENEMIES
( Deut 26:16-19,Ps 119, Matt 5:43-48)

The invitation of Jesus for us to love our enemies and pray for them always is a difficult task , humanly speaking. My dear friends, with all humility it is not an easy task speaking out of my personal experience. But with Christ who strengthens us (Phil 4:13), it becomes an easy task after all.

How do you love and pray for someone who is always seeking your downfall, someone who is always working very hard that you don’t succeed? That gives the difference between us and the people of the world. For them it is about “tit for tat”, you do me I do you.

Let them think negative for you whiles you you think positive for them, and leave the fight to God. It is only God who can fight for you and not yourself. If you take up the fight yourself you will fail.

May the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen us to always love those who persistently persecute us. Amen.
Have a blessed weekend.
Shalom. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
