Theme: God will turn your curse into Blessings
( Num. 24:2-7, 15-17,Ps 25, Mat 21:23-27
In the first reading, we encounter the third oracle of Balaam, which was intended to be a curse for Israel. When the Israelites encamped near Moab and Midian, the people got afraid of Israel because of their conquest. Hence they united forces to persuade Balaam to curse them so that they can be able to defeat them. It is believed that Balaam had some extraordinary powers that, when he pronounce curse or blessings it happens. Precisely why the people went to him. To really get the full story you need to begin from Numbers 22.
In fact, Israel was a force to reckon with because of their history. People heard what God had done for them, hence they were afraid to fight them. Balaam tried severally to curse them, but whenever he attempts he rather pronounced blessings. That is what God is able to do for those who worship him faithfully.
Beloved, the situation is not different for us. Some people always wish evil for us. They even wish us dead. Please if you have not faced it , you will think am only creating stories or these things are not real. The Akans have a saying that, if it has not happened to you then sleep. Yes because it has not happened to you so you say it is not real. Wait till you encounter people who will plan to eliminate you and one or more of them will come and tell you. Or they just plan evil against you and they will come back and tell you.Sometimes they may try it spiritually and now physically confront you about it. Some will even come and confess to you of the fact that, they had tried to harm you but you are so strong for them to defeat. These happen always among us. I am a living testimony of this. Come and I will share my story with you.
But we don’t have to worry at all, once we have Jesus on our side. As God told Abraham ” whoever curses you I will curse him and whoever blesses you I will bless him” Gen 12:3. This is equally our portion. If someone plans evil for us, God turns it into good. And sometimes the evil they plan for us befall themselves. We only need to be faithful to God. Don’t be afraid of any one. They are not powerful than our God. The brothers of Joseph planned evil for him, but God turned it into good.
Whatever evil people are planning for you I pray that God turns it into blessings for you. Continue to trust the divine protection of God.We don’t care wherever they will send your name. We know that it will go back to the sender. For that I am certain about it. When Haman planned evil for Mordicai, he was the very person who was hanged on it. You can’t touch an innocent soul and go just like that. Those who planned evil for Daniel also faced the same fate. Your God will not allow you to perish in the hands of these wicked people. If they fail to repent then they will perish.
May God turn evil intentions against your life into blessings today. Amen .
Have a Blessed Week.

Theme:IF YOU LISTEN TO HIS VOICE TODAY HARDEN NOT YOUR HEART
(Zeph 3:1-2,9-13, Ps 34, Mat 21:28-32)
Beloved in Christ, the word of God calls us to repent from our sins and believe God’s message. And that is the purpose of the Parable of the Two Sons. The second son represent the Chief Priests and the Elders, whiles the first son represent the tax collectors with the others who are classified as public sinners. The first son repented from his evil ways and changed his sinful life, whiles the second one was only living a hypocritical life. Pretending to be a holy person but in reality was the worst sinner.
Most of us easily points fingers at others, declaring them as the most sinful people on this earth. This was the character of the Pharisees and the Scribes. They classified some people as the most sinful people, whiles in actual fact they are in that category. The evil things that we do which is in secret is worst than those whom we are judging and condemning. Sometimes we are only projecting what we are on others. Stop parading your self-righteousness before others and accept that you are a sinner who needs God’s mercy.
The Pharisees and the Scribes didn’t accept themselves as sinners who need God’s mercy. No one is righteous before God. Our righteousness is like a filthy rag before God. When we are talking about the sins of others we should ask ourselves, what about me? We are not better than those we are broadcasting as public sinners. May be your bad life has not come to light. That is why I always say we are not better than those in prison. Is just that we have not been caught.
Our sins has its consequences even on earth here. Some of us have hardened our heart to the extent that, we don’t seem to hear any message of caution. This posture was not different from that of the Pharisees and the chief priests, who refused to accept the message of salvation brought by Jesus.
Brethren in Christ, life they say is so short, hence the need to make amends and repent now. We have only the now but not the future. Because anything can happen at any point in time. Don’t be like the rich man who was looking for second chance after his death. Like I know they say is always at last. Ask yourself whether the life you are living when you die right now, you can be with God in heaven.
Don’t deceive yourself that there is no hell. Heaven and hell are real. Therefore, repent now and be saved.
May the Holy Spirit help us with his strength to change from our evil ways and be saved. Amen .
Have a Blessed day

Theme: No Family is Perfect
(Gen 49:2,8-10,Ps 72, Mat 1:1-17
One of the great lessons that the genealogy of Jesus teaches is the fact of cherishing our families. Jesus even though is God came from a family. Secondly, his family root like all families is not a perfect one. But this is the same family that our Messiah came from. God knew this but still planned for the Messiah to come from the root of this family.
One of the imperfections in the root of the family of Jesus is the story between Judah and Tamar in Genesis 38. You can read to get more understanding. Tamar was the daughter in-law of Judah. But because of the treatment she received from his father in -law , she disguised herself as a prostitute and slept with him. This resulted in a pregnancy, bringing forth the twins Perez and Zerah(Gen 38:29–30; 1 Chr 2:4). This union wasn’t as a result of a perfect relationship.
We can also talk about the union between Bathsheba(the wife of Uriah) and David , which brought forth the great King Solomon ( 2 Sam 11:1-27). This was equally not a perfect union. But Jesus came from this family with these imperfections.
Today, I want you to reflect on the family which you come from. Beloved, no matter how bad you think your family is, that is where God planted you. Even Jesus came from a family with imperfections. Your family equally is not a perfect one. Hence, I want you to cherish it. Cherish your root which is the genesis of your makeup. Your entire being is as result of this family. Your genetic makeup comes from the root of this family, even though you are unique in your own respect.
Some of us condemn our families too much, as if you are the only person coming from a bad family. Please be happy with where you are coming from. God knows why he planted you in that family. Possibly he wants you to also help to correct certain imperfections. The very reasons why you want to dissociate yourself from the family. God has a purpose for you in that family, please discover it.
The person you are discussing your family issues with equally doesn’t have a perfect family. May be his own is even worse than yours. Stop spreading the negativities of your family and intensify your prayers to bring change to these areas. This is the best you can do for your family.
Some people also disown their families, because they claim it is evil, it is hard luck, it is a family with curses and others you can think of. But it is the same family that is your root. You can dissociate yourself from your root but you can’t deny yourself from it. One day, you will definitely have to come back. You can’t go and take another family to be yours, never. Even though some people do that, but along the line in their lives, they have to resort to their original root, that is their original family.
May the Holy Spirit open the eyes of our minds to discover the reason of God bringing us into the families we are so that we can cherish them. Amen .
Have a Blessed day.

Theme: Don’t be quick to judge People
(Jere 23:5-8,Ps 72, Mat 1:18-25)
Beloved, I want us to learn something from St. Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary was betrothed to him in marriage. But before they came to live together as husband and wife, he realized Mary was already pregnant. This is an abomination to the Jewish culture. Meaning Mary had committed adultery which demanded stoning to death. To avoid putting Mary through all this embarrassment, he decided to divorce her secretly without any public knowledge. In actual sense it is supposed to be made public according to the demands of custom. But Joseph chose to do otherwise. This is truly a Christian who doesn’t want disgrace for his fellow human being.
If it was you and I, we would have quickly gone public to shame the person. This is what is happening in our marriages and relationships these days. We easily want the whole world to know that we are holy and the other person is a sinner. Hence we are better than the other person. In fact, we shall be first in heaven, whiles the other person is going to hell. We are not ready to cover up or protect the image of each other. Please we have to work hard to protect the image of everybody we come into contact with.
We shouldn’t be quick to judge. Joseph easily judge Mary thinking she had seen another man. But upon a deeper discernment he realized it was not the case. Sometimes we don’t sit down to reflect a bit about what we hear of people. We are so quick to act and disgrace the person.Especially if it is someone we really dislike. The whole world will hear it within a twinkle of an eye. Please when you hear negatives about people take your time before passing judgement. Sometimes most of the things are only pure lies, just to tarnish the image of the person. Mostly we finish destroying the person before we realize that the information we got was untrue. Always do your background checks very well.
A number of marriages have collapsed because of hearsays. Most couples depend so much on hearsays to manage their marriages. Please some of these people are sent to collapse our marriages, mostly out of jealousy. The person might jealous your marriage and would like to collapse it by peddling falsehood. And you also bluntly buy into it without doing any background checks. Most of our mothers and sisters are guilty in this. I have personally witnessed broken homes caused by false information. But it becomes too late to amend the marriage when the truth finally comes out. A lady has recently died because she was accused innocently. She couldn’t bear the shame and died out of health complications. The truth has finally come out but the woman is dead. You have killed someone’s mother, daughter, wife and so on. If you don’t repent from such attitudes, you will rot in hell. Some of us that is what we are good at. Destroying people innocently and causing pain to human lives. You are only inviting curses upon your life, stop it.
But even if it’s true that the person has done that, why can’t you forgive? After all who is perfect? Are you an angel yourself? That you want to disgrace your partner or someone because of a wrongdoing? When it comes to sin we are all not safe. We need to rather bear with the failings of each other. This is how we are supposed to live together as a community, but not trying to look for the least opportunity to shame or disgrace people.
May God give us the grace to always work hard to protect the image of others in the society, especially during this period of Christmas and the latter part of the year. Amen .
Have a Blessed day.

Theme: Don’t doubt but Believe
( Judges 13:2-7,24-25, Ps 70, Lk 1:5-25)
The Christian life is one of faith in God. We can’t doubt the power of God because we want to see before we believe. The principle of seeing before believing doesn’t work in matters of faith. Zechariah , who was a priest of God have had his prayers answered by God. But he doubted somehow. Meanwhile this was something he has been praying for all this while. So why should he doubt? It means that he had given up. This was something that God didn’t expect from a priest who is supposed to be a model of strong faith to his people. He and his wife Elizabeth had prayed for a child, and God responded at his own time. Unlike Zechariah, the parents of Samson in the first reading believed the words of the angel. And truly it came to pass. The point is that whether you believe it or not once God has declared something to happen, it must happen.
We can’t doubt the power of God, because he is able to do all things. These situations are impossible to men, but not to God. There is nothing which is too big for God to do. And as I have always been saying, what God can’t do doesn’t exist.
Don’t be a doubting Thomas in your Christian faith. Some of us are praying for something but still we doubt it. Immediately doubt comes in then we can’t talk about faith. Because ” Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” Heb.1:1 We have not seen it but we believe that it is there or it would become a reality.
If Jesus was able to rise from the dead after three days in the tomb, then what is beyond him? Of course nothing. Have faith in Jesus that what you are going through will become history one day. It is a matter of time. I know some of us are going through a lot in life and we have waited for long but we are not seeing anything. Hence, we have given up. Don’t give up, it is a matter of time. Your time will come okay. He has the power to turn things around for your good. Be strong in faith and continue to trust him. Your God is alive not dead.
May the Holy Spirit help us to always have faith in Jesus and not doubt his power . Amen.
Have a Blessed Day.

Theme: Submit to the Will of God
( Is 7: 10-14, Ps 24, Lk 1:26-38)
Today, in the gospel reading, our Mother Mary teaches us about one of the lessons in life, and that is being submissive to the will of God. She whole heartedly availed herself for God to use her. ” Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word ” Lk 1:38 She was the vessel that God used to bring the Saviour to the world. It means that she played a key role in the salvation of humanity.
This acceptance had so many dangerous and hard implications for her. One of them was that she could have been stoned to death for fornication. Because Joseph didn’t have any affair with her before she got pregnant. Precisely why Joseph wanted to divorce her in secret to avoid all these implications. For the Jews, fornication was a sin which demanded stoning to death.
My dear friends, we need to equally allow the will of God to prevail in our life. Most of us wants our will rather to prevail. That is why we are struggling in life. We need to seek out the will of God for us. It is only by doing so that we can have fulfilment in life. We will become vessels for great things in this world if we allow him to use us according to his plan. We are created for greatness, but this can only become a reality if we give the steer of our lives for God to drive. Our will shall surely fade away but his will always endure forever.
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus wished that the Father could prevent his suffering and crucifixion. But he submitted to the will of his father finally. ” Father not my will but your will be done”. The will of God comes with so many challenges for us which demands endurance. Once it is his will, he will see us through. I want you to make this part of your prayer life by saying that ” Lord, let your will be done” We can ask something from him but we should allow his will to be done.
It is my prayer that the will of God will always be done in your life. Amen. Have a Blessed Weekend.
Shalom.🙏🏼🙏🏼
