Theme: For Jesus, Distance is not a Barrier
(Is 4:2-6,Ps 122, Matt 8:5- 11)
The centurion is teaching us that whatever is said in faith can have effect no matter the distance. He told Jesus not to worry himself to come to his house to come and healed his servant. As a man of authority, he should just declare and there will be effect. ” Lord, am not worthy that you should come under my roof; but only say the word and my servant will be healed” Matt 8:8. We should remember that this is a Roman and not a Jew, but he believed in Jesus.
The centurion is also teaching us that strong faith in Christ can move mountains. Whatever we ask from Jesus with a strong believe is possible to happen. Strong faith in Christ is capable of doing mighty things in our lives. We need to mature in faith to the point when we believe in the transcending power of Jesus.
Ask Christians, Jesus has given us that power and authority to move mountains. He has given us that power to overcome all situations in our lives. Hence, we shouldn’t allow fear to downplay the power in us. What lives in us is greater than what is in the world. We shouldn’t be afraid of anything, because we are already over comers. Those evil powers and situations are afraid of us, but unfortunately we are also afraid of them. In fact, they have no power for us to be afraid of them. We must exhibit our power and shake them always. Let them know that they are nothing before you, because Jesus lives in you. They fear and hate to hear the name of Jesus, which is above every name.
The effects of our prayer doesn’t know barrier. I don’t need to touch you before my prayer can have effect on you. I am not by this discounting the power of touch or physical presence. Because Jesus also touched people to heal them and other effects. But it is not a must that the recipient of a prayer intention must always be present before the prayer can work. We are talking about authority and faith here. In our everyday life, if you are in authority you only give a command and the instruction is carried out. You don’t need to follow till the instruction is performed. Because of the power and authority you have, your words and instructions are full of power, that they are accomplished with the mere fact that it is coming from you. And this is the nature of every Christian.
I can pray for someone who is very far from me, but because of the power and faith of my prayer, the effects will be realized. There are so many testimonies that we can all give in relation to this. So please don’t let any fake pastor deceive you that if I don’t touch you the prayer wouldn’t work. This is what they are doing and deceiving most of us. You can stand at anywhere and pray and it will work. Please you have also been reading the bible, hence don’t allow yourself to be deceived.
May the Holy Spirit our Helper grant us the grace to know that there is power in our prayers. Amen.
Have a blessed Week.

Theme: Jesus’ Kingdom is one of Peace
(Is 11:1-10,Ps 72, Lk 10:21- 24)
The first reading promises the coming of the Messiah and the nature of his kingdom, who is Jesus. His kingdom is one which is characterized by justice and peace, different from the other worldly ones. The fact that the wolf dwell with the lamb, the leopard lying with the kid, the calf and the lion being together, points to the peaceful nature of his kingdom. In a normal sense we know that these are not possible. These are animals who in our normal human experience can’t see eye to eye, and the same with the way they relate with human beings. How can you play with a cobra and it will not hurt you? This is a very distinctive attribute of his reign. This will be the nature of his kingdom in heaven, but it must start from here on earth.
Truly Jesus is the Prince of peace. And as his followers we must also be instruments of peace. We must promote peace wherever we find ourselves. We can’t afford to be instruments of divisions in our societies. But unfortunately, that is the work of some of us. We always want people to be at each other’s throat. We create confusion everywhere. Wherever we find ourselves, there is division. Some of us also like gossiping too much, hence we create division among people all the time.
There can’t be peace without justice. Jesus is a just judge, hence there is peace always in his kingdom. But our society can’t boast of justice. As a musician once said” Everybody is crying for peace, but no body is crying for justice”. It is true that our societies are full of injustices, hence the experience of hostilities, acrimony, strife, wars, conflicts and so on. People are being treated unjustly, hence they also take the law into their own hands. Our security forces and the judiciary who are supposed to fight for justice for all have become the most corrupt institutions in our societies. The poor are being discriminated against and social injustices is the order of the day.
This is even happening in the house of God. There is discrimination and injustices in the church all over. Some churches have become places of strong divisions. One is greeted with division for the first visit. And mostly it is some individuals who have allowed Satan to use them to perpetuate these evils. If you are one of them, then please stop, because that is not the spirit of God.
May the Holy Spirit grant us the grace to always promote peace at all times . Amen.
Have a blessed Day.

Theme: Come to the Mountain of the Lord
( Is 25:6-10, Ps 23, Matt 15:29-37)
Both the first reading and the gospel talks about the mountain of the Lord. Mountain in scripture is a symbol of the presence of the Lord. A place where God dwells. His dwelling place is full of joy, deliverance, prosperity and healing. When we allow him to take the center stage in our lives, he will take away all situations which prevent us from progressing in life.
Jesus in the gospel reading responded positively to the human sufferings of his people. He healed them from all their diseases and after wards fed them with physical food. He brought a total change in their lives, which became a source of great joy for the people. There was a turning around in their lives. When Jesus is in our boat of life, he make all things possible. Jesus can change our story to the marvel of people.
The Lord Jesus had compassion on a crowd. He fed them with seven loaves of bread and a small fish. The disciples didn’t believe that they can get food to feed all the people, because they didn’t have the means to do that. But they forgot that they had Jesus with them who is capable of anything. They only needed to present the little they had and Jesus will multiply it to feed all the people. After this encounter I believe their faith had increased in Jesus.
We need to also have faith in Him and present the little that we have. He can change that little to make it blossom. In the eyes of Jesus, there is nothing like a hopeless situation. The disciples saw a hopeless situation, because it was not possible to feed such a big crowd with seven loaves of bread and a small fish. But with the presence of Jesus the hopeless situation changed radically.
Your money for the business you want to begin might be too small, but when you invite Jesus into it , He will bless it and that small business will become a flourishing one. You may be coming from an unknown background, but when Jesus is with you, your story will definitely change. You only need to invite Him into the situation and He will turn things around. The Jesus effect is very important in our lives. I invite you to come to Jesus today and lay all your burdens unto him.
May He increase our faith in Him. And may the Lord also have compassion on you today and come into your situation. Amen .
Have a blessed Day.

Theme: Don’t be a Lip Service Christian
( Is 26:1-10, Ps 118, Matt 7:21,24-27)
The Lord Jesus is warning us against serving him with only lip service. As he said in the gospel ” Not everyone who calls me Lord,Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of my Father in heaven” Matt 7:21 .In other words, we are to be both the listeners and the doers of his word. Hypocrisy was the order of the day during his time. The Pharisees and the Scribes appeared to be so much religious, but their way of life was different from what they preached. They preached something else and live something else. Such people Jesus says would have no place in the kingdom of God.
It is not about going to church everyday and busying ourselves with religious activities. It is good to be punctual at church always, but our lives should go beyond just going to church always. Action speaks louder than words. People expects us to walk our talks. They want to see us doing what we tell them to do. We can do mighty deeds in the name of God, but if we fail to be true witnesses to the gospel values, then we should forget of heaven.
Christianity is all about the kind of life we live. This is what can transform the lives of people. This is what can renew the face of the earth. The world is fed up with eloquent preachers. They need credible witnesses. When we allow the word of God to transform us everyday, then we are sure of having a strong foundation in Christ. With a strong faith in God, we are able to stand all temptations and difficulties in life. We must allow the word of God to take a center stage in our lives.
Again, the Lord Jesus invites us to worship Him from our hearts. Hypocrites worship God with their lips but not their hearts. Most of us are only lip service Christians. We do things to please people, but our hearts are very far from God. It is one thing to be religious and another to be spiritual. You can be religious by following rules and regulations strictly, but you might not be doing it with your heart. We are called to be authentic Christians not hypocrites.
Most of us Christians of today are becoming more hypocrites than ever. We are external Christians who are superficial with our religiosity. In fact, we can be called fake Christians , because we are not authentic. We can’t win souls with this kind of living. But the question is: Where do you belong? Are you worshipping God with your lips or from your hearts? The decision is yours.
May God help us to be authentic Christians
Amen .
Have a blessed Day.

Theme: Be Healed of Your Blindness
(Is 29:17-24,Ps 27, Mat 9:27-31)
Beloved in Christ, the Lord Jesus healed the two blind men and he restored their sight once more .You and I are also blind both physically and spiritually, and we need the touch of Jesus to be healed.
Sin has blinded us so we are not able to perceive things clearly according to the ways of God. Some of us our conscience are either dead or so weak that sinful acts are now normal for us. It is also true that some of us are also suffering from all forms of physical sight problems. In all these situations, we need the touch of Jesus to be healed.
It was the two blind men who called on the Lord for help in their distress. The Lord also responded and answered them. In moments of difficulties let’s look up unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
I pray this day that Jesus will heal all our blindness and restore us to full sight again.Amen.
Have a blessed day.
